The Origin
Established 1991. Built with Purpose.
For over three decades, Spring Step Men has been rooted in a singular belief: craftsmanship leads. Today, we carry that heritage forward—blending refined European design with purposeful construction engineered for the rhythm and demands of modern life.

1960s
THE FATHER
In a small workshop, Isaac Ben Zikry worked leather by hand. No shortcuts. Just time, patience, and doing things the right way.
The smell of leather filled the room. The steady rhythm of stitching. The focus it took to shape something well. His sons were always nearby—watching, learning.
Because craft isn’t something you explain. It’s something you pick up over time.

1970s
APPRENTICESHIP
David and Avi didn’t inherit a brand. They grew up around the work. Nothing was handed to them. They learned early that details matter—and that doing things right isn’t optional.
Surrounded by leather, tools, and the process itself, they picked up the fundamentals of shoemaking—how a shoe should feel, how it should move, how it should hold up over time.
They came to understand that every choice matters. The structure. The balance. The way it’s put together. Because it was never just about how a shoe looks. It’s about how it performs—for the person wearing it.

1980s
THE FIRST STEP FORWARD
With a deep respect for how things were done—and a willingness to push forward—David and Avi began creating their own designs alongside more established names.
They weren’t focused on adding more. They focused on getting it right. The proportions. The structure. The way each shoe moves and feels over time.
Clean, understated, intentional—built with purpose, not excess. These aren’t shoes made to stand out from across the room. They’re made to hold up, day after day.

REFINEMENT
By the time Spring Step Men came together, the foundation had been built over years.
What they learned started with their father—and over time, it became their responsibility to carry forward.
Nothing about it was automatic. It had to be earned. The same ideas stayed with them: get the structure right, keep the quality high, and make sure it fits the way it should. Not louder. Not chasing trends. Just continuing the work—one pair at a time.

Today
spring step men
What started at their father’s workbench still carries through today—just shaped for the way men live now.
Every detail is considered. The shape, the materials, the way each step feels. Nothing rushed, nothing unnecessary. It’s not about being louder or over-designed. It’s about getting it right.
A way of working that continues—made for the modern man.
