California Proposition 65 Notice
The State of California enacted the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, commonly known as Proposition 65. This law applies to companies that manufacture, distribute, or sell products in California.
Proposition 65 requires businesses to provide warnings on products that may expose consumers to chemicals identified by the State of California as potentially causing cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm. The list maintained by California includes hundreds of substances, many of which have been commonly used in everyday consumer products for many years.
Because the law carries significant penalties for non-compliance—and because warnings may be required even when exposure levels are extremely low—many companies, including Spring Step Shoes, choose to provide Proposition 65 warnings out of an abundance of caution.
The presence of this warning does not necessarily mean that a product will cause cancer or reproductive harm. Our footwear is designed and manufactured to be safe for its intended use, and we remain committed to product safety and quality.
